THE RATIONALE

The rationale for introducing ‘UDIAM’ as a platform for empowering the in-service school teachers in the Diocese of Ujjain is:

To bring a common benchmark in the teacher-quality through ‘UDIAM’.

To assist schools to cater an education of quality and relevance.

To send a positive signal to beneficiaries about management’s attempt to update teachers.

ABOUT UDIAM

UDIAM is acronym of ‘Ujjain Diocesan Initiative for Academic Mentoring’. The whole project of upskilling the in-service school teachers in the Diocese of Ujjain shall be called ‘UDIAM’.

IMPLEMENTATION

The Bishop of Ujjain, has entrusted the responsibility of implementing the upskilling process of in-service school teachers in the diocese, to an education committee, comprises nine members from different schools in the diocese.

MODUS OPERANDI

The pre-set plan to upgrade teachers is mainly through Teacher Enhancement Tests (TET). Support projects for registered candidates, like classes, conferences, seminars and other forms of upskilling/empowering may also be implemented in off-line and online modes. Registration for TET does not vest any right with a candidate to demand such support empowering programs. Self-study based on the curricula and syllabi published is ‘the method’ proposed by this Committee. A nominal exam fee will be levied on every candidate.

TEACHER ENHANCEMENT TEST CONTENT

Questions in this Teacher Enhancement Test (TET) will be MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions). MCQs with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. The language of all the questions will be English and answering mode will be ‘recording/filling the bubbles’ on the provided OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheets and each MCQ carries one mark. There will be no negative marking. There will be two compulsory papers for this Test. Duration of Test will be -Two-and-a-half hours.

TET-STRUCTURE

(2 booklets, 2 papers) The Test will be conducted in four levels: (cf.NEP:2020)
CURRICULA

Child development & pedagogy (age-wise), Educational Philosophy, Secondary Education Middle Level Education, Preparatory and Foundation level Education. School-by-laws & Service Conditions, Blooms Taxonomy, Assessment Methods & Blue Print developing, Test construction, Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE), Online & digital education as per NEP 2020, Application of Multiple Intelligence theory in class rooms, RTE Act 2009, Pedagogy of subjects according to Foundational level, Preparatory level, Middle level, and Secondary level.

Teacher Enhancement Test (TET) is scheduled to be on a Sunday/holiday and the date specific will be notified on the website udiam.org.

The TET comprises two papers: Paper-I, and Paper II. Paper - I will contain 80 (Eighty) MCQs and Paper - II will contain 70 (Seventy) MCQs. (Here MCQ is acronym of Multiple-Choice-Questions).
